North–South health research collaborations have a colonial history, and a contested presence in which organisations from resource-poor countries depend on collaborations with grant-holding institutions from affluent countries. Despite this sensitive context, there is a remarkable lack of guidance to support North–South health research collaborations in a comprehensive manner. A reference document of practical advice can establish standards from the beginning, thereby promoting equitable and open relationships. This article explains the process and some results of the development of such a document – a Guideline of Good Practice (GGP)– for the international health research collaboration Initiative for Maternal Mortality Programme Assessment (IMMPACT).

The rapid development of technology makes this technology have an impact on many fields, one of which is the business world. The number of businesses that have emerged both small and large businesses that have an impact on competition between these businesses. Today, business in the culinary field is getting tougher. The culinary business sector of restaurants is increasingly popping up in this age. We need to overcome the competition in the emerging restaurant business. By using the stages of making software requirements specifications based on ISO / IEC / IEEE 29148-2018, this restaurant business will have an international standard information system. The result of this method is a software requirements specification document (SKPL) as a reference document for all activities carried out during the development of this information system.

This paper is a summary of a report prepared by the Office of Ship Construction to provide a base reference document from which a detailed design for an automated steam propulsion plant will be developed for unattended engine room operation. As the design details are developed, it may be anticipated that some of the concepts and preliminary design requirements discussed herein may be modified and/or changed to reflect these developments. It should also be noted that the concepts and opinions expressed herein are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect those of the Maritime Administration.

The basic means for the containment of oil spills in water areas are booms. Despite its common usage, for a long period of time there were no national standard regulating the requirements to this kind of equipment. Such standard, GOST R 58190-2018, became effective on April 1, 2019. The basis for its establishment was Transneft PJSC reference document, which was revised with regard to the analysis of foreign experience in standardizing the requirements for booms, experience in operating heavyweight marine booms, the state of the market for such equipment, materials and production technologies used. GOST R 58190-2018 for the first time determined heavyweight marine booms as a separate group of defense booms, established and consolidated the requirements for such equipment effective on the national level. Within the present article the authors, who took part in the standard development, set forth the analysis of the development results and consider problems related to this issue. The authors present recommendations with the purpose of increasing the quality of measures taken in the field of technical regulation. The conclusion is made whether it is practical to consider the question of creating national standard, which defines basic types of defense booms in general, the requirements and application recommendations. The experience of developing GOST R 58190-2018 can also be applied to other types of equipment and used for the development of other national standards.

Abstract. Human rights have advanced to an important category of peace and international politics in recent decades. The reference document for human rights is the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), which emphasizes, among other things, the relevance of human rights education. However, this topic has been largely neglected in empirical research until now. Peace psychology might contribute to a better understanding of human rights education. The present article examines effects of human rights education on knowledge, attitudes, and commitment concerning human rights. Three university seminars dealing with human rights as one of two principal topics formed the background for three quasiexperimental studies with pre-/posttest designs. All studies demonstrate that even short-time human rights education can increase the knowledge about human rights and enhance positive attitudes and commitment concerning human rights. The discussion stresses the importance of further empirical studies on human rights education for a culture of peace.
